Terms of Service

These are the terms you agree to when you use Doorstep Gifts. Two of them matter more than the rest. Approving a proof is what charges you. And when you add a photo, you are telling us it is yours to have printed. Each has its own short section below.

Effective · Version 2026-09-15.v21

The short version

Doorstep Gifts is run by ClickClackLabs LLC, based in New York. We draw a house from a photo you give us, frame the print, and ship it. You agree to these terms when you sign in, start a project, or order from a page we made for you.

If you are agreeing for a brokerage or a team, you are confirming you can do that on their behalf.

What you are buying

One product: a framed 8x10 house portrait, drawn from your photo. You pick the frame finish, black, red oak, or white, and the price is the same for each.

The price includes the proof, unlimited revisions, framing, and shipping within the United States. There are no setup, design, or service fees. The list price is on the homepage. If we reached out to you first, your first portrait is offered at a lower introductory price. It applies once, to that first portrait, and it does not expire on your account.

We send you the proof. Approve it and we print, frame, and ship. Ask for changes as many times as you like. Changes are free.

The photo you upload

When you add a photo, you are telling us you are allowed to. That is the one promise we ask of you, and it is made in these words:

I have the right to use this photo and to have it printed.

You make that promise by agreeing to these terms and then uploading. There is no box to tick. Starting a project from the homepage counts too, and the promise is recorded against your email address until you sign in.

Why we ask: listing photos usually belong to the photographer who took them, or to the listing brokerage. A photo you took yourself is clearly yours, and it usually makes a better drawing anyway.

We record the promise as you upload: the words above, the version of these terms, the time, your account or email, your IP address, and your browser. We write it on our side, from the terms in force at that moment. If we ever change the words, the version changes with them, and older photos keep the wording you agreed to.

If a photo turns out not to be yours to give us, we stop the order where it stands and remove the photo and the drawing. We cannot refund production we have already paid for, and any claim that follows is yours to cover. See the section on our promises and their limits.

You keep ownership of your photo. You let us store it, draw from it, print the result, ship it, and keep it so you can reorder later. We will not use your photo, your client’s name, or their address in our own marketing without asking you first.

Proofs, approval, and payment

Approving the proof is what charges you. Nothing is charged before that. The amount and the card are shown above the approve button, every time.

When a proof is ready we email you a link to the order. Open it to approve, or to ask for changes with a note, or by marking the spots on the portrait. Changes go straight back to our studio.

If you have a card on file, the button names it and approving charges it. If you do not, you enter a card on that page and pay there, for the same amount. The card is yours, not the account’s. Nobody else on your team can see it or spend on it. We keep a card only when you save it, by the box at payment or on your profile, and you can remove it there at any time.

Each portrait is approved and charged on its own. Forty closings means forty approvals and forty lines on your statement, as you work through them.

Sometimes a bank wants to hear from you before it takes a payment. That is not a decline. We email you, you confirm on the order page, and the order carries on. Production waits until the payment clears, which can move the delivery date.

Sales tax is added on approval and shown on its own line. It is worked out on the address the print ships to. Today we collect it in New York only. As we register in more states, tax will start appearing on orders that ship there. After each charge we email you a receipt.

Changes, cancellations, and refunds

Before you approve, cancel any time from the order page, for any reason. Nothing has been printed and nothing has been charged.

After you approve, email us. If the printer has not started, we cancel and refund you in full. Once it is being made we cannot pull it back. Each print is made for one house, so there are no change-of-mind returns after that point.

If something is wrong with what arrives, we fix it. A defect means the print does not match the proof you approved, or it arrived damaged. Also a broken frame or glass, a printing fault, or the wrong frame finish. Email us within 14 days of delivery at [email protected], with a photo. We reprint and ship a replacement at no cost, or refund you if a reprint no longer helps. We do not usually ask for the damaged one back.

Two things are not defects. A detail of the house you had in front of you on the proof and did not flag. And the small colour difference between a screen and ink on paper.

Shipping and dates

By default the print ships to you, so you can hand it over in person. You can ship it straight to your client instead. Either way, check the address: the print cannot be restocked.

One part of the timeline is yours: how long you take to approve. So before you approve, every date we give you is conditional and names your deadline. After you approve, the date is a commitment we hold ourselves to. Weather, a carrier, or a printer outage can still get in the way. If we miss a date we gave you after your approval, tell us and we will expedite, reprint, or refund, whichever helps.

When the parcel ships we email you the tracking, and again when it arrives. If the standard path will not make your closing date, we say so before you order.

If we sent you a page we made for you

Sometimes we draw a home you just closed and send you a link to it, before you have an account. Ordering from that page works a little differently. You are looking at a finished portrait, so ordering takes you to a Stripe checkout page. You enter the delivery address and your card there, and you are charged there and then. The total, tax included, is on screen before you pay.

That page can offer to save your card for next time. It is a box you tick. Leave it and no card is kept. The address you enter stays on that one order. There is no subscription and nothing recurring.

The link does not expire. Ask us to email it to you and we do. We send it again on day two and day five, unless you have ordered or asked us to stop. Each reminder has a one-click way to stop. Sign in through the link and the page, and anything you ordered from it, become part of your account.

Accounts and teammates

Every account belongs to an organization, even a team of one. Everyone on it can create orders and approve proofs. Each person pays with their own card. Admins can change the account name. Only the owner can add or remove people or hand the account to someone else.

We sign you in with a link or a code we email you. There is no password. Keeping your inbox secure keeps your account secure. A coordinator who works your orders can be invited to the account.

You can close your account whenever you like. Anything already in production still ships, and you still owe what you approved. We can suspend an account for four reasons. Unpaid charges. A photo we have good reason to think was not yours. Abuse of the service or our staff. A legal requirement. Unless it is urgent, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix it.

Please order prints of homes you worked on, keep to your own account’s data, and do not scrape the site or resell the service as your own. That is the whole list.

What you can do with the drawing

Share the drawing with your client and use it to promote your own business, for as long as you like. We will not take that back. Please do not resell it as a product, license it to others, or use it as stock art for homes you had nothing to do with. We keep ownership of our styles and of the artwork itself.

Our promises, and their limits

We stand behind what we control. The print matches the proof you approved. We tell you the truth about dates. If we get one of those wrong, we reprint, expedite, or refund.

Beyond that, we provide the service as it stands, with no other warranties. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is what you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost commission or lost business. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

The other side of the photo promise. If a claim comes from a photo or client details you gave us, or from your breach of these terms, you cover our costs. That includes reasonable legal fees. We act on your word, so the risk of that word being wrong sits with you.

This is an early product from a small team. Styles and features will change. Prices can change too, but never for an order you have already placed. If we change these terms in a way that affects what you pay or what you promise us, we email account holders first. Orders already placed keep the version in force when you placed them.

Disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts there.

Before that, email us. Almost everything that has ever gone wrong with an order was fixed with a reprint and an apology.
